Online Entry
The Online Entry form will take you to a form to provide us with all your boat and crew details, and then once that is submitted you will be presented with the payment page to make payment for your entry fee, craning and dinner tickets using Paypal. If you subsequently want to add extra tickets or craning go directly to the Entry Payment page and simply add the additional items on their own to the cart and pay for them. As long as the email address you filled in on the entry form matchs the one you use with paypal we will be able to correlate the additions with your original order.
Officially registration is open from 18:00 to 21:00 on Friday, but anyone that is here earlier in the afternoon on Friday should contact Steve Atkinson (+44 7715 490818) or Trevor Kirkpatrick to get hold of their bow numbers before launching.
It would help us greatly if you could sort out your 2009 Association Membership in advance.
The 2009 form is available on the SB3I website
Crane launching will take place in the Boat Yard of Carrick Marine Projects into the Harbour from mid afternoon on Friday onwards, and from 9am on Saturday. For those arriving on Friday please make every effort to get launched on Friday to avoid the rush on Saturday morning.
Easy slipway launching will be available at the Town Slip at the top of the harbour. Be aware that the top of the harbour is shallow and don't attach your rudder and lower your keel until you are past the inner pier. In practise the easiest option is to just motor on over to the Castle Pontoon in the middle of the harbour and tie up before doing keel and rudder.
The club slipway is narrow and exposed to the prevailing south westerly wind so the Town Slip is the prefered option.
Trailers for boats that launch by crane will be stored in the Boat Yard of Carrick Marine Projects.
For those that launch from the slipway, trailers should be towed back round to the club and stored in the Sailing Club Boat Park/Car Park.
Boats will be moored on Friday and Saturday night on the Castle Pontoon in the middle of Carrickfergus Harbour.

Report from http://www.sb3ireland.com/?p=296
Sunshine and light winds greeted the competitors at the Northern Championship in Carrickfergus on Saturday. After an over eager start by most competitors in the first start the race got under way following a Black flag. Local boat Bullet (Trevor D’Arcy) rounded the first mark in a good position. Sharkbait (Ben Duncan) was not too far behind and found good pressure on the left hand side of the run to open up a commanding lead by the second windward mark. Sharkbait finished first followed by Modus Operandi (Ronan Collins) in second.
The second race saw local boat Bullet take the gun from Sharkbait in second and Splash Gordon (Gordon Patterson) in third. The third race got under way but soon had to be abandoned due to a large windshift. With the match looming and no sign of wind competitors raced for the clubhouse to get seats for the match.
Sunday started on a very different note. Those out early for practice were greeted with a 30 knot squall which caused some damage in the fleet. Shortly afterwards those still ashore sailed out in 10 knots of Breeze and sunshine following the squall.
The first race got under way in 15 knots of breeze which was soon followed by another squall which made the first beat a bit of a challenge. However Sharkbait again showed great pace and boat handling and followed with another race win this time followed by Bullet and Spash Gordon
Race four saw McCready Sailboats (Gareth Flannigan) win from Redmond Fisher (Peter Kennedy) with Bullet showing good consistency to take third.
In Race five Modus Operandi took the gun closely followed by Sharkbait who were now in control of the event.
In Race six McCready Sailboats lead from start to finish taking another race win and with this narrowly secured second place overall on countback from Modus Operandi in third place.
However there was no doubt about the winner with Sharkbait Ben Duncan, Ric Morris, and Brian Moran from Howth Yacht sailing a great event, discarding the last race and winning the event with five points to spare.
