Regatta Day - Sat 20th Aug

The club regatta day takes place on Saturday 20th August

Sailing

Sailing Instructions and inserts for all the BLYC regattas are available on the Belfast Lough Sailing site. The relavent parts are the BLYC Regatta Sailing Instructions and the specific insert for Carrickfergus Regatta. Be aware that we use a different start sequence with all the starts running as one sequence beginning at 12:30 rather than the normal morning and afternoon sequences.

There will be extra racing in the moring for Topper, Laser Bahia and Sailability dinghies.

Social

There will be musical entertainment throughout the day,
commencing with the CWA Brass Brand from 4pm to 5.30,
then George Hewitt from 6pm to 8pm,
and finally through the Rosie Hunter band will play from 9pm  to 1am.

The Commodore's Reception will be from 3pm to 5pm .

The plan is to try and present the prizes for the day as soon as possible after 5pm.

Sailing Instructions

1. Rules

1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.

1.2. The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme as set out in the current YR2 will be used.

2. Notices to Competitors

2.1. Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located in the foyer of the clubhouse.

2. Eligibility and Entry

2.1. The regatta is open to all boats of the PY Cruiser and Restricted Sail Cruiser classes.

2.2. Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it to Carrickfergus Sailing Club before the start of the first race.

2.3. All competitors shall be a member of Carrickfergus Sailing Club.

Evening entertainment The Thumping Drunkards 7.30pm to 10.00pm
(also known as The Marine Band) Scottish and Irish folk and traditional music.

Sunday 5th

Ruffains racing: Team racing, CSC against The National Yacht Club, Dun Loughaire.
Last year’s winners CSC defend their title - Good spectator spectacle
