Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats.
It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations.
The course will be taken at the Club’s coastal location and will be conducted in our club planing ribs.
The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.

Previous Experience
No experience required; Level 1 doesn’t need to be completed before Level 2
Minimum age to attend course is 12 and under 17s will receive an endorsed certificate.
After completing the course you will be self-sufficient in handling a powerboat in the right conditions, aware of your own limitations and those of your craft.
